Anthony Frost was born in St Ives, Cornwall, in 1951, the son of the painter Sir Terry Frost, and studied fine art at Cardiff College of Art from 1970 to 1973. He lives in west Cornwall and works from a studio in Penzance. His abstract paintings combine acrylic, pumice and pigmented gels with collaged supports such as sacking, scrim, hessian, sailcloth and netting. He was included in Art Now Cornwall at Tate St Ives in 2007, and his work is held by the Kasser Mochary Foundation, New York, and King's College, Cambridge.
