Desire Obtain Cherish

Jonathan Paul, who works under the name Desire Obtain Cherish, was born in 1975 in Salinas, California, and lives and works in Los Angeles. He holds a BFA from Parsons School of Design and first showed in a Los Angeles street-art gallery in 2011. Drawing on street, pop, conceptual and appropriation strategies, he makes sculpture and mixed-media work about desire, drugs, gender, luxury, media and fame, often borrowing the language of commerce and advertising. Solo exhibitions include Off Gassing From The Cloud at Bluerider Art, Taiwan, in 2019.
