Emmy Star Brown

Emmy Star Brown is a Chicago native who has worked as a muralist and painter for more than a decade, earning a BFA in visual communications from The Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago in 2007. Her practice spans murals, illustration, lettering and canvas painting, with recent studio work built around the idea of the Inner Child and using layered colour and emotive line. Her work has appeared in public spaces from Times Square to Miami's Wynwood district, and Brookfield Place New York presented her exhibition Day and Night: A Color Study in 2025.
