Gamuret is a visual artist who built his practice in Seattle through the 1990s and early 2000s, making posters and fliers for punk and country bands, hand-stencilled T-shirts and work on city walls, before relocating to New York in 2008. Encouraged by the Seattle gallerist Richard Hines to move from the street toward gallery work, he paints with spray paint on canvas in a register that ranges from pop-inflected portraits to darker imagery with political content. He has worked with DTR Modern Galleries since 2019; an installation was placed at the Catbird restaurant at The National.
