Josh Mayhem

Josh Mayhem was born in 1979 in Los Angeles, where he continues to live and work. He began by customising small designer toys and now makes one-off sculptures from designer toys and pop-culture figures, coating them in his windswept Blown Away treatment, which suggests motion and dispersal in saturated colour. Solo exhibitions include Cuteness in The Wind at PIQ, Grand Central Terminal, New York (2018), Drip at The Crown Collection Gallery, Los Angeles (2020), and Transitions in Calgary (2024). His work has featured in the Arte Vivo exhibitions at museums in Mexico City.
