Kim Cooper

Kim Cooper is a painter based in Washington, D.C., and the founder of Kimsy Designs. Trained in textile and surface design, she carries gridded patterns, stripes and the structural rhythms of fabric into portraiture and abstraction, working in flat, saturated colour. Her abstract portraits draw on people from her local community and on childhood memory, while her pop subjects come from film and music. She has exhibited in solo and group shows in the United States and at art fairs in Madrid and Monte Carlo, and showed at DTR Modern in Georgetown in 2025.
