Rainer Lagemann

German, b. 1959

Rainer Lagemann was born September 14, 1959 in Dusseldorf and studied interior architecture and design at FH Lippe in Detmold from 1983 to 1987. He moved to the United States and settled in Miami in 2009. He began welding in 2005 and is known for largely life-sized figures built from hollow, cut metal squares, depicting bodies swimming, running, climbing and holding yoga positions. He had a solo museum exhibition at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, Florida, in 2015, and has made public installations for hotel and office lobbies.
