Ron Burkhardt

Ron Burkhardt grew up in Jackson, Michigan, and spent his working life in New York, where he owned an advertising agency before exhibiting as an artist. He lives in Palm Beach and works between studios in New York, Miami and Southern California. He originated three bodies of work: Notism, gestural hieroglyphic scrawls derived from his habitual note-taking, first shown in a solo exhibition in March 2001; Earth Art, canvases weathered outdoors with paint, soil and sun; and LetterScapes, hard-edged geometric colour fields that spell words. He has shown in more than a hundred exhibitions.
